잠언(Prov.) 28:1 - 잠언(Prov.) 28:14

1	악인은 쫓아오는 자가 없어도 도망하나 의인은 사자 같이 담대하니라
2	나라는 죄가 있으면 주관자가 많아져도 명철과 지식 있는 사람으로 말미암아 장구하게 되느니라
3	가난한 자를 학대하는 가난한 자는 곡식을 남기지 아니하는 폭우 같으니라
4	율법을 버린 자는 악인을 칭찬 하나 율법을 지키는 자는 악인을 대적하느니라
5	악인은 정의를 깨닫지 못하나 여호와를 찾는 자는 모든 것을 깨닫느니라
6	가난하여도 성실하게 행하는 자는 부유하면서 굽게 행하는 자 보다 나으니라
7	율법을 지키는 자는 지혜로운 아들이요 음식을 탐하는 자와 사귀는 자는 아비를 욕되게 하는 자니라
8	중한 변리로 자기 재산을 늘이는 것은 가난한 사람을 불쌍히 여기는 자를 위해 그 재산을 저축하는 것이니라
9	사람이 귀를 돌려 율법을 듣지 아니하면 그의 기도도 가증하니라
10	정직한 자를 악한 길로 유인하는 자는 스스로 자기 함정에 빠져도 성실한 자는 복을 받느니라
11	부자는 자기를 지혜롭게 여기나 가난해도 명철한 자는 자기를 살펴 아느니라
12	의인이 득의하면 큰 영화가 있고 악인이 일어나면 사람이 숨느니라
13	자기의 죄를 숨기는 자는 형통하지 못하나 죄를 자복하고 버리는 자는 불쌍히 여김을 받으리라
14	항상 경외하는 자는 복되거니와 마음을 완악하게 하는 자는 재앙에 빠지리라

Proverbs 28:1–14 (Listen)

1   The wicked flee when no one pursues,
    but the righteous are bold as a lion.
2   When a land transgresses, it has many rulers,
    but with a man of understanding and knowledge,
    its stability will long continue.
3   A poor man who oppresses the poor
    is a beating rain that leaves no food.
4   Those who forsake the law praise the wicked,
    but those who keep the law strive against them.
5   Evil men do not understand justice,
    but those who seek the LORD understand it completely.
6   Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity
    than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.
7   The one who keeps the law is a son with understanding,
    but a companion of gluttons shames his father.
8   Whoever multiplies his wealth by interest and profit¹
    gathers it for him who is generous to the poor.
9   If one turns away his ear from hearing the law,
    even his prayer is an abomination.
10   Whoever misleads the upright into an evil way
    will fall into his own pit,
    but the blameless will have a goodly inheritance.
11   A rich man is wise in his own eyes,
    but a poor man who has understanding will find him out.
12   When the righteous triumph, there is great glory,
    but when the wicked rise, people hide themselves.
13   Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper,
    but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
14   Blessed is the one who fears the LORD² always,
    but whoever hardens his heart will fall into calamity.
