1	하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도의 복음의 시작이라
2	선지자 이사야의 글에 보라 내가 내 사자를 네 앞에 보내노니 그가 네 길을 준비하리라
3	광야에 외치는 자의 소리가 있어 이르되 너희는 주의 길을 준비하라 그의 오실 길을 곧게 하라 기록된 것과 같이
4	침례 요한이 광야에 이르러 죄 사함을 받게 하는 회개의 침례를 전파하니
5	온 유대 지방과 예루살렘 사람이 다 나아가 자기 죄를 자복하고 요단 강에서 그에게 침례를 받더라
6	요한은 낙타털 옷을 입고 허리에 가죽 띠를 띠고 메뚜기와 석청을 먹더라
7	그가 전파하여 이르되 나보다 능력 많으신 이가 내 뒤에 오시나니 나는 그의 신발끈을 풀기도 감당하지 못하겠노라
8	나는 너희에게 물로 침례를 베풀었거니와 그는 너희에게 성령으로 침례를 베푸시리라
9	그 때에 예수께서 갈릴리 나사렛으로부터 와서 요단 강에서 요한에게 침례를 받으시고
10	곧 물에서 올라오실새 하늘이 갈라짐과 성령이 비둘기 같이 자기에게 내려오심을 보시더니
11	하늘로부터 소리가 나기를 너는 내 사랑하는 아들이라 내가 너를 기뻐하노라 하시니라
12	성령이 곧 예수를 광야로 몰아내신지라
13	광야에서 사십 일을 계시면서 사탄에게 시험을 받으시며 들짐승과 함께 계시니 천사들이 수종들더라
14	요한이 잡힌 후 예수께서 갈릴리에 오셔서 하나님의 복음을 전파하여
15	이르시되 때가 찼고 하나님의 나라가 가까이 왔으니 회개하고 복음을 믿으라 하시더라

Mark 1:1–15 (Listen)

John the Baptist Prepares the Way

1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.¹

2 As it is written in Isaiah the prophet,²

  “Behold, I send my messenger before your face,
    who will prepare your way,
3   the voice of one crying in the wilderness:
    ‘Prepare³ the way of the Lord,
    make his paths straight,’”

4 John appeared, baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 5 And all the country of Judea and all Jerusalem were going out to him and were being baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. 6 Now John was clothed with camel’s hair and wore a leather belt around his waist and ate locusts and wild honey. 7 And he preached, saying, “After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. 8 I have baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

The Baptism of Jesus

9 In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son;⁴ with you I am well pleased.”

The Temptation of Jesus

12 The Spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness. 13 And he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. And he was with the wild animals, and the angels were ministering to him.

Jesus Begins His Ministry

14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand;⁵ repent and believe in the gospel.”
