11	나는 너희로 회개하게 하기 위하여 물로 침례를 베풀거니와 내 뒤에 오시는 이는 나보다 능력이 많으시니 나는 그의 신을 들기도 감당하지 못하겠노라 그는 성령과 불로 너희에게 침례를 베푸실 것이요
12	손에 키를 들고 자기의 타작 마당을 정하게 하사 알곡은 모아 곳간에 들이고 쭉정이는 꺼지지 않는 불에 태우시리라
13	이 때에 예수께서 갈릴리로부터 요단 강에 이르러 요한에게 침례를 받으려 하시니
14	요한이 말려 이르되 내가 당신에게서 침례를 받아야 할 터인데 당신이 내게로 오시나이까
15	예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 이제 허락하라 우리가 이와 같이 하여 모든 의를 이루는 것이 합당하니라 하시니 이에 요한이 허락하는지라
16	예수께서 침례를 받으시고 곧 물에서 올라오실새 하늘이 열리고 하나님의 성령이 비둘기 같이 내려 자기 위에 임하심을 보시더니
17	하늘로부터 소리가 있어 말씀하시되 이는 내 사랑하는 아들이요 내 기뻐하는 자라 하시니라

Matthew 3:11–17 (Listen)

11 “I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”

The Baptism of Jesus

13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. 14 John would have prevented him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” 15 But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented. 16 And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him,¹ and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; 17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son,² with whom I am well pleased.”
