“Like a wide river of protection…”

(22) “For the LORD is our judge, our lawgiver, and our king. He will care for us and save us.”

Yesterday Isaiah said that those who were right with god and lives righteously would be sheltered and safely protected. And today he is promising that those who have been dwelling in Him will see God in His beauty and a land that stretches. They will no longer see those fierce, violent people who have oppressed them. Isaiah mentions that they would also see Jerusalem being restored and secured. God would be there with us and be like a wide river of protection. Isaiah proclaims that the Lord God is our judge, our lawgiver, and our king who will protect us and save us. And finally he promises that God will remove sickness and forgive our sins.

Today’s message assured me that God would not be a fear to us as He would be for those who were wicked and sinner. Only those who have feared God and lived by His Word will stand firm because their stakes are firmly fixed. The message shows that God would be a secure foundation only to those people who trust God and listen to Him. Since it is a true fact that He would be a sure foundation for me and be my strength, I will live by this faith today which I need to receive the Lord’s daily strengthening.
