“Will find the refuge in Him…”

(27) “For the LORD Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?”

Today Isaiah beings with a statement saying that the Lord Almighty has sworn to execute His plan as purposed and decided. God would break the Assyrian down who had oppressed the people of Israel. Isaiah tells us that this would be the plan determined for the whole world and the hand of judgment stretched out over all nations. He reminds that nothing could change His plans and turn back the hand of God. Also in verse 29, Isaiah tells the Philistines not to rejoice that the rod which had struck them was broken.

The passage today reminds me that there is nobody on the earth who could be able to avoid these judgments of God. It is because He would not ignore our sin and rebellion against Him. Only those who have been covered by the blood of Jesus could be exempted from this judgment. This message has warned me to keep the pure heart and not to deal with any evil thought and sins. I must remember that the Lord Almighty has sworn this oath, judging the nations in His holy anger. And there is nothing that could change or stop carrying out His plans, but only the people belong to Him would be protected and be safe. Today’s passage reminds me very seriously about the Wrath of God. For the application I will praise the Lord Jesus who took the punishment of my sin so that I could be set free from the judgment.
