Today’s QT: 1 Samuel 17: 41-49
Title: God is with me
Keyverse: 45, 47
Summary: Goliath sees David he thinks of him as unworthy because David is youth. He says that he will give his flesh to the birds and beasts. David answers with “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in name of the Lord of hosts, the God of armies of Israel, whom you have defied”. Saying that Lord will deliver Goliath into his hands so he may strike him and cut off his head.
Message: In today’s passage David meets Goliath face to face. Goliath is thinking of David as a joke because he is just a kid. But David shows no fear and says that God is with him. If I were in David’s shoes I would be scared going against Goliath saying he will feed my flesh to the birds and beasts of the field. But David has his faith firmly in God knowing that God will deliver Goliath into his hands. I also see that Goliath was arrogant and full of pride. When I am full of pride and arrogance I can fall just like Goliath. But instead I should be like David trusting in God to face against my Goliaths. I shouldn’t worry because God’s strength is far beyond anything on this Earth.
Application: Pray that I will have the trust of David knowing I will be victorious when God is on my side. And be more hard working by stop procrastinating.
